FNB NMMU opened their 2012 Super League Grand Challenge campaign with their first match against Crusaders Rugby Club. The Madibaz beat the Crusaders, who are celebrating their 125th anniversary this year, by 90 points to 17.

The FNB Madibaz ended their best-ever Varsity Cup season in fifth position on the log. They also produced a fair sprinkling of star players in the process, like backline ace Carl van Niekerk.

Giantkillers en route to Pretoria
The FNB Madibaz, known as the giantkillers of the 2012 Varsity Cup, will be looking to end their most successful campaign on a high when they travel to Pretoria to take on the winless FNB TUT Vikings on Monday.
