Oceans cruise into semifinals
Oceans' big win over Northernz last week saw them seal a place in the semifinals of the 2011 Nelson Mandela Metropolitan University Steinhoff Koshuisrugby League.
The mid-year break did not halt Oceans' momentum as they romped to a 37-0 victory over last year's NMMU Koshuis League winners, Northernz.
The victory saw Oceans knock Bay XV from third spot on points' difference. Northernz, however, ended their league campaign winless and stay rooted to the bottom of the log.
Bay XV also picked up a win over Xanadu, but the 20-8 victory wasn't enough to retain third place on the log. Bay XV drop down to fourth and will also advance to the semifinals.
In the other match of the round, Harlequins also sealed their semifinal berth with a 22-10 win over Rangers.
That means the four teams in the semifinals (in log position) are Oppidani, Harlequins, Oceans and Bay XV.
The semifinals will take place on Wednesday, August 17, with Oppidani taking on Oceans and Harlequins taking on Bay.
