FNB NWU-Pukke broke FNB UP-Tuks hearts when they defeated the home side 29-28 in a tense battle to secure their spot in the FNB Varsity Cup presented by Steinhoff International final. NWU Puk’s flanker, Marno Redelinghuys, was named the FNB Player That Rocks.
Each Varsity Cup Player that Rocks gets a R1500 cheque courtesy of FNB as well as a Samsung Galaxy phone. The player that rocks will wear the pink shorts in the next fixture to raise awareness to the “Keep the Aggro on the field” campaign – taking a stand against violence against women.
Varsity Cup players are gentlemen and in the spirit of the pink pants, the Player that Rocks gets to chose a lady in his life to have 50 pink roses delivered to.
