Derby Day in Stellenbosch
The scene has been set for an epic set of rugby matches, with the Steinhoff Derby Day in Stellenbosch on Tuesday featuring some mouth-watering clashes.
The first headline clash sees Steinhoff Dagbreek taking on Steinhoff Wilgenhof at 5pm, and both teams will want to hold the bragging rights in the clash between the two oldest residences.
The two Huise, Steinhoff Huis Marais and Steinhoff Huis Visser, will be keen to record a victory over their neighbors and face each other at 6.10pm. In a replay of last year's semifinal Steinhoff Elsenburg will want to avenge their defeat to Steinhoff Medies.
Medies are currently playing in the Steinhoff Koshuisrugby Championships, and it will be interesting to see what side they name to face Elsenburg.
The biggest and most eagerly anticipated Derby is undoubtedly the match between Steinhoff Eendrag and Steinhoff Helshoogte. Last year Eendrag beat Helshoogte for the first time in three years, but did so emphatically in a game they won 26-10.
Eendrag were beaten finalists last year, losing to Medies, and will be hoping to keep the momentum they had last season when went unbeaten for eight games in a row to reach the final. Helshoogte had a strong showing in the Steinhoff First Years Tournament and will be hoping their youngsters will add extra energy and motivation to this clash.
