FNB Wits Young Guns will look to get their season opener on a high note, when they entertain FNB UP-Tuks Young Guns on Monday afternoon at the Wits Rugby stadium. The game will be an opener for the highly anticipated main game that will see the seniors, FNB Wits take on FNB CUT in a FNB Varsity Cup presented by Steinhoff International match.

The FNB Wits young guns will be lead out by hooker Tyran Dickson. The young Witsies will be an interesting team to watch as they are made up of a number of top players from some of the leading rugby playing schools in Gauteng.

In this seasons edition of the competition, the FNB Wits Young Guns will be the underdogs but they look forward to taking up the challenge.

“It is clear that FNB Wits remain the under dogs this season which continues to drive the boys. The term underdogs provides the opportunity to prove the pundits wrong. It’s what drives the boys on and off the rugby field.

“The countless early morning training and late evening sessions continue to build the brotherhood of our side. We are a confident, motivated, well-driven rugby team who will continue to work hard in order to prove those who doubt us wrong.” said team manager Yanga Damane.

FNB Wits Young Guns are also not just about rugby. “All the boys express a balanced lifestyle with a focus on both academics as well as the sports lifestyle. Living that balanced lifestyle provides a perspective on the life after university which requires dedication and hard work,” He added.

FNB Wits will be ready for the challenge come Monday afternoon, when they take to the field against FNB UP-Tuks, with kickoff set for 14.15pm at the Wits Rugby Stadium.
