The UP-Tuks Koshuis League has reached its pinnacle with Steinhoff Mopanie and Steinhoff Sonop have claimed the honour of playing in the final.
Not only are they playing for university bragging rights but also for the opportunity to represent the University of Pretoria in next year’s edition of the Steinhoff Koshuis Championships.
Steinhoff Mopanie go into the final with a rather large title on their back as they remain unbeaten but Steinhoff Mopanie captain Hein Schoeman knows that this means nothing as they need to perform on the day.
“There are definitely no favourites going into the final. I know that both teams have trained extremely hard but we are here to a job,” he told varsitysportssa.com.
“We know that it will definitely be physical, but the mental aspect will play a role and we will have to keep cool in pressure situations which I’m sure we will encounter. The spirit in the team is good at the moment and it’s nice to be part of a team where every individual has a role to fulfill and where we play for each other and the team until the very end,” he added.
TuksRugby have indicated that if there is a draw after regular time teams will play two extra time halves of seven minutes. If the scores are still tied after extra time then a golden try extra time will be played where the team who scores the first try wins the match.
