In the standout performance of game week two, Steinhoff Cobras resumed their hunt for top spot as they put six tries past Steinhoff Leo Marquard. As far as starts go, this was just what they needed as they look to challenge both Steinhoff Cobras and Steinhoff Nadoes once again this season.
Defending champions Steinhoff Cobras kicked off their title defence with a narrow win against Steinhoff Ubombo, bagging all the points and keeping their unbeaten run intact. This was their first game back since their championship-winning match against Steinhoff Harlequins in the FNB Varsity Cup presented by Steinhoff International, and while the result was close, they’ll be delighted to have been able to stick to winning ways.
Steinhoff Saints failed to register any points against Steinhoff CVU Vikings as they conceded three tries to their opponents, going down 15-0 and leaving them towards the bottom of the table early on in the season.
Steinhoff Knights found themselves at the top of the log after Round Two, as they picked up their second victory of the season by beating Steinhoff Leo Marquard 17-0. The real test is whether or not they will be able to keep up their run of form as the teams around them start winning matches as well. All in all, it’s shaping up to be an exciting season!

Steinhoff Turtles ready for Steinhoff Cobras rematch
In the headline match of match Round Three, Steinhoff Turtles will once again get a crack at Steinhoff Cobras as they look to assert themselves as favourites in the league. This match could go either way, as both teams seem to have been able to carry their momentum from last season into the new campaign.
After two weeks off, Steinhoff Smuts will be itching to get back into the thick of things as they take on Steinhoff Kopano. With other teams seemingly finding their feet early on in the season, Steinhoff Smuts will have to play hard to ensure they stay in and around the top four as the season goes on.
Steinhoff Ikhaya will get to run out for the first time this season as they clash with struggling Steinhoff Saints, who despite having played two games, are still looking to register their first points on the log.
League leaders Steinhoff Knights will have their mettle tested as they play Steinhoff Nadoes, the team set on reclaiming the FNB Varsity Cup slot for next year’s competition. Elsewhere, Steinhoff Leo Marquard will be looking to pick up their first points of the season, but face a tough task as they face an in-form Steinhoff CVU Vikings side.
