After 10 rounds of rugby, and a knockout stage, the UJ Steinhoff Koshuis Rugby League is now down to two teams.

Steinhoff Maqhawe who occupied the number one position for the majority of the season made light work of their opponents as they thrashed Steinhoff Maqahawe 47-7.

Steinhoff Oppierif, who were dealt a major blow this season when they docked points and got off on the back foot, have defied the odds, as they beat Steinhoff Chiropractors 31-12.

The defending champions Steinhoff Chiropractors elimination means that a new champion will be crowned in 2017.

Steinhoff Maqhawe vs Steinhoff Oppierif

The 2017 UJ Steinhoff Koshuis Rugby League Final will see Steinhoff Maqhawe take on usual suspects Steinhoff Oppierif.

The two teams come into the final with contrasting fortunes. Steinhoff Maqhawe led for much of the season as they were flawless in the group stages and are the ultimate favourites for this clash.

Steinhoff Oppierif, who were docked points because of their lack of conduct were punished for the opening three fixtures, which meant their season started off in disastrous fashion.

However, as soon as they got off and running, it was a feeding frenzy for the Steinhoff Oppierif as they eventually surged up the table and showed the character and experience we have become accustomed to when they progressed to the finals.

The final will be played on the 21st of September at the UJ Stadium at 18:00.
