The FNB TUT Vikings are ready for a tough match, as they host log leaders FNB Walter Sisulu University tonight at the TUT Stadium at 18:30. The team had a great start to the competition winning their first match at home against newcomers FNB Rhodes.
“We’ve had a week to prepare for tonight’s encounter,” said Marius Scholtz, the team coach. “And we’ve done our analysis from the previous match through one-on-ones with every player.”
According to Scholtz they know what they need to do to achieve results for tonight. Despite making few changes to the starting line-up, he said his side is ready for a tough encounter.
“Is not about who we play but more focusing on how we want to play our game,” he added.
The team will make one change in the front, starting with Mandla Ndaka on the flank, replacing DK Mukendi, while at the back due to injuries, Bongani Phangisa will start at scrumhalf, Viagian Groenewald will be at inside centre and Mpumelelo Solomons will make his debut at outside centre.
“Tonight the Pretoria fans can expect composure and playing the situation at hand while taking control in the field of play,” said Claude Johannes, the team captain. “We want to shock the log leaders and give them a game they never expected. We are going to run at them and use excellent ball execution to put them on the back foot.”
Today’s game is also dedicated to giving William Thompson, the teams lock an extraordinary birthday present, as he turns 21.
