FNB CUT will be making their debut in the 2015 FNB Varsity Cup presented by Steinhoff International after beating the FNB UKZN Impi 35-26 in the 2014 Varsity Shield Final.
The promotion to the Cup competition also means they will have a representative team in the Steinhoff Koshuisrugby Championships and that honour has gone to the Steinhoff Tigers.
The Steinhoff Tigers became the first CUT Koshuis team to represent the University in the Steinhoff Koshuisrugby Championships.
The final was a tense affair between Steinhoff Tigers and their "old foes", Steinhoff Buffalo. Steinhoff Buffalo were the defending CUT Koshuis champions and went all out to retain their title but fell short by the narrowest of margins, losing 16-17.
Preparations for the Steinhoff CUT Tigers' debut in the Steinhoff Koshuisrugby Championships have already commenced as they look forward to matches against UFS' Steinhoff Vishuis, UCT's Steinhoff Cobras, TUKS' Steinhoff Mopanie and NMMU's Steinhoff Stallions.
